Thank you for choosing The Tempered Rose! We are committed to getting your delicious chocolates to you quickly and safely. Please read our policy carefully to understand how we ship your order.
1. Shipping Locations and Timing
A. Shipping Area
We currently only ship within the United States. We are based in Maplewood, MN.
B. Order Processing Time

All orders are processed within 5-7 business days (excluding weekends and holidays) after receiving your order confirmation email.

Processing times may be extended during peak seasons (e.g., Christmas, Valentine's Day). Any delays in processing will be communicated via email or a notification on our Site.
C. Shipping Days
To prevent packages from sitting in non-climate-controlled warehouses over the weekend, we typically ship only on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays during warmer months (May through September).
2. Shipping Methods and Rates
Shipping charges for your order will be calculated and displayed at checkout. We offer a variety of carrier options (e.g., USPS, FedEx, UPS).
A. Standard Shipping

Standard shipping usually takes [e.g., 3–7] business days after processing.

Warning: Standard shipping is NOT recommended for chocolate when temperatures exceed 70°F (21°C) at either the origin (Maplewood, MN) or the destination.
B. Expedited Shipping (Recommended for Warm Weather)

Expedited shipping options (e.g., 2-Day Air) are available at checkout.

During warmer months (typically May 1st to September 30th), we strongly recommend selecting an expedited shipping option (2-day or less) to minimize transit time and reduce the risk of melting.
C. Temperature Protection (Warm Weather)

For orders shipped during warm weather or to warm climates, we automatically include insulated packaging and frozen gel packs for an additional fee, which will be calculated and added during checkout.

This fee is mandatory for certain products or destinations to maintain quality control.
3. Heat Damage and Risk of Loss
Please review this section carefully before placing your order:

Risk of Loss: The risk of loss and title for all products pass to you upon our delivery to the shipping carrier. This means we are not responsible for delays or packages damaged or lost while in the carrier's possession.

Melting: While we take precautions, we cannot guarantee chocolates will not melt during transit, especially if standard shipping is chosen against our recommendation.

Delivery Responsibility: It is your responsibility to ensure someone is available to promptly retrieve the package upon delivery. We are not responsible for packages that are left outside or in mailboxes for extended periods. No refunds will be issued for melted products if expedited shipping was not chosen, or if the package was left unattended after delivery.

4. Incorrect Shipping Addresses
Please double-check your shipping address at checkout.

If you provide an incorrect or incomplete address, resulting in non-delivery, spoilage, or return to sender, we cannot issue a refund.

If a package is returned to us due to an incorrect address, you may request that we reship the order to the corrected address. You will be responsible for the full cost of the new shipping label and any associated return fees.
5. Order Tracking
You will receive an email notification with a tracking number once your order has shipped. Please allow 24–48 hours for the tracking information to become available.
